Since making this video I have clarified the land ownership of the pedestrianised area of Trinity Square. That land is privately owned but of course it is open for public access and public right of way. In terms of the current law in England; being in a ‘public place’ and being in an area ‘accessible to the public’ are two entirely different things. You can think of Trinity Square as being of a...

Herrons food used to be a Woolworths. It had a big map on the wall outside that if you pressed buttons it would light up particular streets. Oh and the Coronation club made so much money it kept so many other CIU clubs going,

Detailed reporting and if they are the culprits I hope they get the book thrown at them. I have to ask why the police dont bother with house break-ins or car theft the same way?

Volume crime investigation has suffered significantly since cutbacks began around 10 years ago. A high profile crime on a UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site like this and has global attention, demands a full and thorough response.

Give them the full ten years - no parole. I hope the other inmates give them a really hard time. I live on the south coast, nowhere near the tree, but even I was horrified by this senseless act of vandalism. The locals must be heartbroken.

You seemed quite taken by the place! The truth is!! its on its knees, The great History does not really matter now. what matters is that it has like so many high streets in the area had very little money invested, with rents going up each yr, good shops are in decline, many betting shops, charity shops & many empty, its a sad state.

In context, Wallsend surprised me in relation to other similar sized towns in Tyneside and with the backdrop of a decline in living standards. I describe signs of decline but it’s still a busy and thriving town, in my opinion 👍🏻

Semi final at old Trafford against shef utd a few years back we were railroaded out of Manchester by the gmp. Literally kettled until escorted (against many’s will, included shef fans caught up in the police kettle) and put on train. Prior to this we had been baton charged and in my case hit with said batons. There had been trouble around the pub we were in earlier that day between Huddersfield and Newcastle fans but that was prior to the match and this was sometime after the game. There were kids and families in that pub as well as Sheffield fans and there was no trouble in or around the pub at the time the police came in with full riot gear on. Indeed the atmosphere was very jubilant. At York the gmp left the train and Northumbria police took over. We complained to a copper from Northumbria that we had plans to spend the weekend in Liverpool but had been forced on to the train, he said Manchester police were notorious for treating football fans like this. The Sunday sun ran with the story as apparently a retired police chief from Northumbria had also been caught up / witnessed what unfolded . If I recall correctly the story ran for a while and Manchester police had / ran an investigation into the police actions of the day but I don’t know what the outcome was. I just recall the events. Oh and the statement by the police at the time that Newcastle fans were very drunk and disorderly, yet they allowed the train to restock the bar at York because we had drank it dry on the way back….. they were out of order , one actually said from behind his riot shield when holding us in some sort of loading bay at the train station , we love match days we get paid to be a firm , you lot just get nicked ….. well done Eddie for helping these guys

I relate so much to this. I’m a nurse and I was able to mask my whole career but was so mentally exhausted by the time I got home that I barely had energy for my family. I wish I picked a career that better fit my personality, just like you said. I chose nursing because I like science and I think it is an honorable profession, but never realized how much of my soul it took to survive. Being an engineer would have been more my style, but I didn’t even know what that was when I was younger, lol! But my career was definitely out of my comfort zone and I learned what I am capable of. Unfortunately, several members of my family have had health problems this past year and I’m currently being evaluated for MS and with all that stress, I finally broke down at work & it’s a bad situation. Losing my health has been the biggest blow. I self diagnosed myself with ASD years ago and my counselor agrees. After my initial consult with a psychologist, she also agrees with my neurodivergence so I’ll be undergoing formal testing in the next few weeks. I’m excited to see what it will all say. The psychologist says these assessments are very helpful in life, so maybe it will give me some tips on navigating through life since I feel like I’ve been running blind all these years. 😂

I was born in London, but I identify as a Geordie. My pronouns are 'ye', 'bonny lad' and 'marra'. Nah, not really. Shields lad - North ...though but! - born _well_ within the sound of Smith's Dock 5 o'clock buzzer. I don't do football since Keegan sold Cole, but Geordie through and through. My take is, it comes from the coal miners' preference for the George Stephenson safety lamp over the Humphrey Davy one. I've always taken it as: Northumbrian and north of the Tyne. But, if you have the accent and you're not from _too far_ south (let's face it, it's gonna be a line midway between the Tyne and... that next one down) then claiming you're a Geordie is fine by me. 👊🏻

I could go on about incidents that the police couldn’t be all that arsed to follow up or investigate! I won’t. BUT, suffice to say this was ridiculous! I mean these lads were just trying to make an atmosphere….to me the constabulary weren’t acting in any public interest.

Don't mean to sound like I'm belittling murder but they get their covering for the week, in this case this is a site of generational significance, it has hundreds on hundreds of years, your ancestors ancestors ancestors ancestors would've been able to walk to this tree, yet your own children or grandchildren won't. Murder is horrific and effects the family, but this is also a murder of a kind and it effects the country.

In these sorts of cases, the process is the punishment. The conviction is a bonus. Everyone will think twice about lighting flares in a car park now. An activity the court has ruled is not illegal. It will have a chilling effect on rowdy behaviour. Mission accomplished as far as police are concerned.
